Andrew Patterson

On Friday the 20th of November, our year 8's received a very special visit from Andrew Patterson. Mr Patterson came to our school just to give our year 8's some information about high school, because in High School it is a hard thing to figure and even figuring out what College you are going to attend next year.

Cindi in da house

For the past 4-5 weeks, we have been working on our school production. We are remaking the story of Cinderella but Glenn Innes styles, It is called Cindy in da house everybody in the production has been working very hard.

We are having our first school rehearsal for our production, but there are a few things we need to work  like our dancing and also our acting. We are dressing up as our characters and putting on make up.

I think we are going to do well, because we have a very good supporting staff and I hope we all do everything good

Miss Universe New Zealand

Yesterday afternoon, we had visitors from the Miss Universe New Zealand contestants. They came to visit our senior school, their where twenty overall but only sixteen of them came.

We had 3 girls in each classroom, it was really interesting to hear their stories, because the contestants where talking how they want to chase their dreams and being an entrepreneur. Each of the beauty pageant had 2 minutes to talk to our class

One thing that got to me was when Gabriel "said that you should never wait for your dreams always chase your dreams".

How people receive and spend money

Intro: What is money? money is banknotes and coins that are used to purchase something you want or something you need. Also money is currently everywhere in the world, people use money to purchase or buy things like shoes, food, clothes and also different kind of things.

Where  do  you get  money? There are various ways people around the world receive money. Like if you where an adult you would get money by getting a job and working hard, And also a lot of kids get money by doing all the chores at home. Money can come from many places like your relatives.

How people spend money? I see many people around the community spending and purchasing there money on snooping through the market for things to provide for there family. Also when people see things they would like to wear they would buy it with there own money, only if you are over 21.

When I obtain money? I really struggle with saving my money, because there are so many things I would like to eat or buy. If I receive money, by one of my relatives I would spend it on things.

As the the years flow by I’ve learnt a lot of things about money, that if you spend all the money that your relatives have gave you don’t spend it right away because you might have things you like. Also I would always save my money

Mega Earthquake

                                        Mega Earthquake

New Zealand (geologists) have found evidence that a large earthquake hits beneath central New Zealand.  A ‘megathrust’ is a very large earthquake that occurs in a subduction zone.

An subduction earthquake is when earthquakes occur on the underside of the upper plate. Where both of the plates meet, rather than meeting within the upper plate.

A group of scientists have found evidence, that two huge earthquakes that ruptured in the southern part of the Hikurangi Margin for the past 1000 years.

The margin marks the collision zones between the pacific also the Australian tectonic plates. This evidence proves that the boundary located under the Cook Strait-Marlborough area, this evidence suggest that a large earthquake could eventually rupture.

Subduction earthquakes have the strength to significantly a lot larger magnitude than upper plate fault ruptures. There could be a massive effect on a larger area, and more likely to trigger tsunami.
